While videos may all connect together; and what the little glass dot means—make sure you maintain the integrity of the idea you have for your video.
Production for the public: 12 minute or so (any length you want) video—there is a ten minute YouTube rule, unless it’s on Wesch’s page.
Series of three videos, group them up to create the larger picture for the semester---three groups of four—hour long episodes of visual American life; so about a 25 minute long video max for each.

Goal: be as good as This American Life. :)

About Upcoming Events:
If you’ve changed your project—then make sure you make a new "super post” about it.

No Wesch 18th and 23rd—make sure we still meet and talk about our projects regardless.

Post ALL the literature you can find on your topic by Sunday the 20th. (Should be at least 25)

We always look at the specific in terms of the general--saying something about humanity.

Next Tuesday: (Post by Sunday Night)

5 unique citations on the anthropology of new media or resources related to your subject that are the most general connection possible. Should end up with 60+ topics that relate in a general way for each other.

Examples: several people should read about surveillance from Foucault (Discipline and Punish)

Sociological Imagination--theoretical explanation- lays out what it means to look at the world through a social theory lens.

Growing up Digital- Tapscott.

Introduction to the Saturated Self.

Mediated--read as much as possible!
